Shak’thiya, or Shak as he is more commonly known, bases his songs on capturing moments in his life. Good and bad, everything has a place in life and his songs are a reflection of the struggle to come to terms with this truth. He also truthfully hates talking in the third person.
Shak’thiya, better known as Shak, is a homegrown singer songwriter that wants nothing more than to make good music. He began writing his songs during his free time while serving the nation. He started off playing at several open mics run here in Singapore, notably at destination ink, The Diarists’ Sessions and the weekly Hard Rock Open Mic sessions amongst others. His music is influenced by various genres ranging from the Blues to Bossa Nova, Hip Hop and Folk. He would also like to add that he isn’t a fan of talking about himself in the third person.
