"Two days of boundary-burning music and art performance, Neon Lights brings to mind the muddy banks of Glastonbury" - Timeout Singapore
“That isn’t funny, stop laughing!” is something comedian-slash-slam poet Kok Wei Liang has been told his entire life about almost everything he says, does and writes. He cheerfully disagrees. THAT ISN’T FUNNY STOP LAUGHING is a cheeky and irreverent look at pop culture, social media and fairy tales. Told through storytelling, prose poetry, musical parody and rap, the show dives into topics like sexual racism, cultural appropriation, depression and addiction with a bravado that borders on stupidity. A must-see experience for the easily offended and people who take everything seriously.
Kok Wei Liang does absurdist, observational comedy and comic spoken word with a cheeky, irreverent bent. He enjoys looking at pop culture, technology and life with an ironic point of view. He has entire set pieces about Facebook, catfishing, the future of women in hip-hop, Beyoncé’s Formation and The Little Mermaid.
He also, sometimes, sings during his act.
