Itch plays all vinyl DJ sets from his collection of “a local exotic funk a go-go” music, originating from the 60’s to early 80’s Singapore and around the region; Nanyang A Go-Go or Hala-Hala, Garage, Psyche, Melayu-Indo soul/funk, Chinese Disco, Pop Yeh Yeh, Asian city pop, and other kinds of Asian rare groove music. Itch’s is bringing back Asian sound and exotic music – by introducing local forgotten music gems to the modern listeners and arousing nostalgic vibes for the old-timers.
Based in Singapore, Itch is a sound selector and music explorer though a mixture of sound from various countries and genres; ambient, lounge, jazzy tunes, 60/70’s garage, psych, soul/funk, Japanese city pop, etc., from his quirky personal selections.
Itch has collaborated with NADA (a visual arts and sound project duo) as a closing DJ set at the “Big Road Market” as part of Singapore Heritage Festival. He has also spun as a guest DJ at a tribute event for the legendary Singapore band in the 60/70’s “The Stylers tribute night” and ‘Jizz Funk & Jacuzzi Soul’ party known as “Tiko Disko” and many more.
His eclectic Asian vinyl mix was also introduced at “Singapore Community Radio” which attracted many listeners. Recently, he co-organised “Batik Jive” dedicated to retro Melayu-Indo funk/soul/dangdut music.
