Singapore’s biggest and most popular weekly stand-up comedy show presents the cream of the crop – three of Asia’s top stand-up comedians – in an exclusive show for Neon Lights. Featuring comedy stars Jim Brewsky & Umar Rana (as seen on TV show “Comedy Central Presents: Stand-Up Asia!”), and one of Asia’s funniest new comedians, Ben Quinlan, set your mouth to splutter and your belly to chuckle as we give you the biggest, creamiest, smiles of the weekend.
Ben Quinlan (AUS/HK)
Ben is a regular performer at the TakeOut Comedy Club in Soho and has performed with a host of international comedians. He hosted the 2015 Magner’s International Comedy Festival and was invited as one of six international headline acts at the 9th Annual Hong Kong International Comedy Festival. He also finished in 3rd place in the 9th International Hong Kong Comedy Competition where he competed with over 50 comedians from around the world. In addition to his comedy career, Ben emcees regularly at major corporate, charity and private events around the city, including TEDxHongKong 2015 at AsiaWorld-Expo and TEDxHongKongLive 2016.
Jim Brewsky (USA/HK)
A star risen out of the Asian comedy scene, Jim Brewsky is an award-winning international stand-up comedian. He won recognition for his prankish charm and cock-a-hoop comedic delivery when he was named Winner of the 2015 Magners International Comedy Festival and Winner of the 2014 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition. He has performed all over the world and made his 2016 television debut on Comedy Central’s Stand Up Asia!
Umar Rana (PAK)
Umar appeared on TV on ‘Comedy Central Presents: Stand-up Asia’ in August 2016. Umar is the Founder and Resident Emcee at Singapore’s biggest and most popular weekly comedy show, Comedy Masala. In 2015, The Comedy Masala Show was aired on international TV channel, Comedy Central Asia. In 2013, Umar was listed in the ‘Top 10 Comedians in Asia’ by Top 10 Magazine. Umar has been doing comedy since 2001, in both improv and standup, and was the founding member of Black Fish, Pakistan’s first and highly acclaimed English Speaking Improv Comedy Troupe. He made his stand-up debut in 2009 and after only four months, he placed third in the 2009 HK International Comedy Competition. He has performed live in Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Pakistan. He was the official opening act for Hollywood comedians Bill Burr and Rob Schneider.
